Ed Kobak is the President of Global Sports Productions,
Ltd., a sports
marketing and publishing firm that specializes in producing
sports reference
books and directories from around the world.
Ed has
authored and published sports reference books since 1980. He
also
writes a column titled 'Around the Globe', which appears in
Sports Collectors
Digest, North America's oldest and largest sports hobby collecting
magazine. |
A native
of New England, born in New Haven, Connecticut, lived on theConnecticut
seashore in Branford
before his parents moved to Vermont and
began a ski lodge in the small resort village of Ludlow, where Ed first
began to ski at the age of
seven.
Ed has a brother, Greg, and a sister, Jan. Ed's mother & father
also reside in
Vermont & Florida.
A graduate
of Biscayne College (now St. Thomas University ) in Miami, Florida
where he received a
B. A. degree in Sports Administration. Ed served his college
internship employed by the Lake
Placid Olympic Organizing Committee and ABC-TV Sports during
the 1980 Lake Placid Winter
Olympics,
where he experienced the thrill of viewing a historic USA Hockey
triumph over the Soviets in the gold
medal game against Finland from the Olympic Arena.
Ed was
formerly employed by the Miami Amigos of the Inter-American
Baseball League, the Denver
Comets (CA) of the International Volleyball Assn,. the Lancaster
(PA) Lightning of the Continental
Basketball Association, the Professional Beach Volleyball Tour
and the 1994 World Cup Soccer
Committee, in Pasadena, California.
Ed is Currently
President of Global Network, Inc., a telecommunications
firm that offers
worldwide telecommunications services, Global Coffee Network, European Car Network
Inc,. a car
importing & overseas
travel
firm, Global Sports Productions, Ltd. and United Energy &
Utilities Corp.
He currently
resides between Pacific Palisades, California, Lake Tahoe, Nevada
and Kenai
Peninsula in Alaska where he spends his leisure time hiking,
skiing, snowshoeing, mountain biking,
running & other outdoor adventure activities.
